Beginning in the Freshman Year, the Class of 2008 has been a very involved group of students both in the school and in the Community. They have donated both time and money to various causes - as well as sponsored and participated in events at school.
Junior Year:
- Ring Ceremony - class members received their Class Rings
- Concession Stands - Class held Concession Stands at home Soccer, girls' Basketball, and girls' Softball games.
- Money was donated to the Children's Diabetes Foundation .
- School Store - students continued their School Store for the 2006-2007 School Year.
- Green Island Food Drive - Class members participated in the Annual Green Island Food Drive to benefit the Green Island Food Pantry.
- Hospice Breakfast - Class of 2008 held a Hospice Benefit breakfast on October 31, 2006. The class raised $700, and donated the money to the Community Hospice in memory of Bridget Brannigan. In November, the Class held a luncheon to present the check to a representative of the Community Hospice.
- Class of 2008 donated $75 to the Green Island Food Pantry .
- New York City Bus Trip - on November 18, the class held it's 3 rd Annual NYC Bus Trip.
- Tree Decorating at the Park - Students decorated a Class of 2008 Tree at the River Park, and dedicated their tree in memory of Bridget Brannigan. Students again decorated the tree with wooden hearts which had names of students, teachers and family members. Kellie Connelly made the Tree Topper.
- Jingle Ball - The 3 rd Annual Holiday Semi-formal was held at the Italian Club. This year's event was the Jingle Ball, and over 70 kids attended the semi-formal.
- A donation was given in the name of the Class of 2008 toward the purchase of the new scoreboard.
- Junior Prom - Prom was held on May 11 at the Franklin Terrace. Casey Connelly was crowned Prom Queen; Mike Cocca was crowned Prom King.
- Relay for Life - Class raised over $1,200 in Green Island's Annual Relay for Life Event for the American Cancer Society.
Sophomore Year:
- Concession Stands - Class held Concession Stands at home Soccer, girls' Basketball, and girls' Softball games.
- School Store - Students began a School Store selling paper, notebooks, pens/pencils, poster board, etc.
- New York City Bus Trip - on November 19, the class held it's 2nd Annual NYC Bus Trip, with over 100 people.
- Tree Decorating at the Park - Students decorated a Class of 2008 Tree at the River Park, with the theme being, The Grinch. Wooden hearts were painted with students, teachers and family members names, and Kellie Connelly made the tree topper, a replica of the tree topper from the movie, The Grinch.
- Snow Ball - The 2nd Annual Holiday Semi-formal was held at the Italian Club. This year's event was the Snow Ball.
- St. Patrick's Day Event - students held a St. Patrick's Day event in the gym.
- Money was donated to the Children's Diabetes Foundation .
Freshman Year:
- Concession Stands - Class held Concession Stands at home Soccer and girls' Basketball games.
- Initiation 2005 - The Class of 2005 initiated the Class of 2008 at the traditional event. Freshman Class members dressed up as various characters - students had a great time!
- St. Peter's Hospital, Chemotherapy Chair donation - Class of 2008 held a bake sale, and a quilt raffle to raise money to buy a chemotherapy chair and donate it to St. Peter's Hospice, the class raised and donated $440. With the help of the Elementary Student Council, St. Peter's became the recipient of 2 Laz-y-Boy Chemotherapy Chairs.
- Heatly Banner - the Class of 2008 held a Heatly Banner Design Contest, which was co-sponsored by the High School Student Council, Elementary Student Council and the PTO. Students in K - 12 submitted designs for a school banner. A group of judges decided on 3 finalists, and then the Student Body voted on the 3 finalists. Kyle Thibodeau had the winner design, and won $25.
- The 1950's - The '08's held a 50's event - everyone dressed in 50's attire, 50's music was played, and students enjoyed another 50's favorite, Milk Shakes!
- New York City Bus Trip - on December 3, the class held it's 1st NYC Bus Trip, it was a great success, and the class decided to make it an annual event.
- Holly Ball - The 1st Annual Holiday Semi-formal was held at the Italian Club. This year's event was the Holly Ball, and was a great success. The class decided to make the Holiday Semi-formal an annual event.
- Tsunami donation - Class of 2008 donated money toward the purchase of bracelets that were made to sell. All money raised from the sale of the bracelets was donated to the Tsunami Relief Fund.
- Club Heatly - A Beach-style bash was held in the gym, celebrating the beginning of Spring weather.
- Sadie Hawkins - held in March of 2006.
- Class donated money to the Steven Swinton Memorial Scholarship Fund .
End of the Year - after a busy Freshman Year, the class held a final event for the year at the Italian Club. Students were brought from the River Park, to the Italian Club by limousine, and enjoyed an evening with friends.
