Gymnasium, library and kitchen work continues
Construction remained on schedule as the school year kicked off in September and throughout the fall. Students have been able to watch as contractors remake Heatly School into something that their children and grandchildren will be proud of! The most recently completed work included:



In the addition:
• Roof units are in place.
• Roof installations are complete.
• Brick installation has begun.
• Front areaway guardrails are in place.
• Window installations were begun.
• Interior framing was completed in the classroom areas and gymnasium.

In the existing building:

• New heating system is installed.
• Administrative suite is done.
• The stage has been removed.
• The kitchen and cafeteria area is framed.
• Corridor ceiling tile has been installed.

Superintendent John McKinney said work will continue in the gymnasium and kitchen/cafeteria areas and work would begin in the library and business classroom areas this fall.

  • Micro-pile installations were completed and pile cap installation was begun.
  • Center stairwell was removed and elevator pit foundation was installed.
  • The Lower Level floor removals were completed (exclude Boiler Room).
  • UG Sanitary pipe is approximately 80% installed.

  • Site access road and staging area were installed along with site access gates.
  • Site office trailers, storage containers, and temporary power sevice have been installed.
  • 4 storage containers are presently being rented from the GC to store excess school materials.
  • K-2 Modular Units were completed and moved into.
  • Pavement removals took place at the rear parking area.
  • Demolition at the Lower Level of the building continues.
  • Lighting removals and required switchovers/relocations are continuing at the renovation areas.
