Spelling Bee
Heatly Elementary Students competed in the Annual Spelling Bee on Monday, June 23. The winners of this year's contest were: Brandon Grady of 4th Grade, Joey Johnson of 5th Grade and Luis Garcia of 6th Grade. Congratulations to the winners - and great job to all students who participated!

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Are you trying to find enrichment activities for your son or daughter for the summertime, or year-round? Read*Write*Think, has launched a new program, Summertime Activities, Learning Beyond the Classroom. There are a multitude of activities for students range from Age 4 – 18. Families, tutors, and summer school teachers looking for fun, educational activities to keep children learning throughout the summer now have a new free online source for dozens of educational games and materials that will keep children entertained and engaged.
The materials, developed by the National Council of Teachers of English and the International Reading Association through the ReadWriteThink program, use everything from children’s television shows to hit songs to creatively connect with children. These age-appropriate reading and writing activities can be accessed for free through a special “Summer Activities” section on the Read*Write*Think homepage.
