Charge policy
We understand that sometimes students forget their lunch money and we do our best to accommodate most situations. However everything has its limits and unfortunately we need to limit the number of charges for students. Under the charge policy approved by the Green Island Board of Education, students K-5 can borrow up to $6.15 (3 lunches); middle and high school students are not allowed to charge any meal at any time. Please make sure you review your child’s lunch balance on a regular basis to eliminate any chance that your child does not have enough money to buy lunch. [LEARN MORE - PDF]

Menu/dietary services
Monthly meal menus are disbursed to all students in grades K-8 and are available to high school students upon request. These menus comply with federal regulations. Special dietary services are available but must be accompanied by a dietary order signed by the child’s physician and on file in the school lunch office.
Free or reduced-price meals
Free/reduced meal applications are available at any time during the school year. They may be requested at the school lunch office or through the food service staff.
Students who meet the financial eligibility guidelines are entitled to one complete breakfast and one lunch daily. Regulations require that eligible students purchasing ONLY milk be charged 30 cents. [DOWNLOAD THE 2011-12 FREE AND REDUCED PRICE MEAL PACket - PDF DOCUMENT]

Lunch: Money deposited into this section can be used ONLY for the purchase of lunch.
Cash Account: Money deposited into this account can be used for the purchase of single milks, breakfasts, lunches and snacks.
