Scholarships

Please check back regularly to view the list and to take advantage of these opportunities. New York State Society of Professional
Engineers’ Capital District Chapter Scholarship: This scholarship
is awarded to high school seniors in the Capital District who intend to
study engineering. The scholarship can range from $1,000 to $3,000.
Scholarships are available at
www.nspe.org/Students/Scholarships/index.html. Due date: April 1.
2011 Grace R. McIver Education Award:
The Capital District School Boards Association (CAPSBA) will be
offering this $300 cash prize to a graduating senior who is planning a
career in public education. Applications
are available in the Guidance Office. Due date: April 1.
National Association of Women in
Construction Scholarship: This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to
qualified high school seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited
college in a construction-related degree program. Awards are based on
need, merit and a review of the transcript.
Applications are available in the
Guidance Office. Due date: April 15.
American Society of Civil Engineers:
This $1,000 scholarship is available to a graduating senior who is
seeking to continue his or her education with the goal of becoming a
civil engineer. Applications are
available in the Guidance Office or online at
www.ascemohawkhudson.org. Due date: April 22.
Hudson River Community Credit Union
Annual College Scholarship: This scholarship is available to high
school seniors who are planning to attend college in the fall AND are
HRCCU members-in-good-standing.
Applications are in the Guidance Office. Due date: April 1.
Hudson River Community Credit Union
Making Life Better Scholarship: This scholarship is available to
high school seniors who have completed 40+ hours of community service
work in the past 12 months. Students must also be HRCCU
members-in-good-standing and plan to attend college in the fall.
Applications are in the Guidance Office.
Due date: April 1.
NYSUT Retiree Council 10:
This scholarship will be awarded to a 2011 graduating senior pursuing a
degree in education at either a two-year college transfer program or a
four-year college. This scholarship will be given to one student from
each of the four counties represented by RC 10 (Albany, Rensselaer,
Saratoga, and Washington). Applications can be found at

Due date: April 30.
Capital District Counseling
Association: The following
scholarships are available to local students who are enrolling at a
Capital Region institution:
(1) One scholarship for a local freshman enrolling at a Capital Region
two-year college for the fall of 2011.
(2) One scholarship for a local freshman enrolling at a Capital Region
four-year college for the fall of 2011.
(3) One scholarship for a local two-year college student enrolling at a
Capital Region four-year college for the fall of 2011
(4) One scholarship for a local college student enrolled at a Capital
Region graduate college for the fall of 2011.
Applications are in the Guidance Office.
Due date: May 1.
