News and Updates
At the March 18 meeting of the Booster Club, the following items were decided on to continue for the next school year:
- Athlete of the Month
- 50/50s
- Memory Books
- DVDs/Photo CDs of the season
- Sponsorships
- End-of-the-season Pizza Parties
- High Stakes Raffle
New Items:
- The Booster Club sponsor the Boys and Girls basketball teams for summer leagues at $100 for each team.
- It was requested that we look into sponsoring a Fan Bus for the Special sporting events ie. Boys Baseball game at Cooperstown on April 17, Girls and Boys Sectional games at far locations (ie. Glens Falls Civic Center, Adirondack Community College, etc). There will be a nominal fee charged - $5 per person, we will also provide water and a snack.
- We would like to host a basketball tournament for the boys and girls Varsity teams this year. Two games of girls qualifying games to be held on a Thursday night; Boys on Friday; and 4 games to be held on Saturday 2 consolation games; 2 championship games.
- Silent Auction
- We talked about the possibility of doing a Dodge Ball Tournament at school next year.
We would really like to have extra help. If you are interested in helping out with one or more of the items listed, or have another suggestion, please contact one of the officers.

Welcome to the Heatly Athletics Booster Club
We’re happy to say that the Heatly Athletics Booster Club has been formed and is up and running. The purpose of the Club is to promote school spirit, promote good sportsmanship and behavior as well as provide funding for those “extras” which our athletic teams may need. Unlike school clubs and classes, athletic teams at Heatly can not fundraise. They rely solely on what the school can provide (uniforms, etc). Many of the “extras”, due to budget constraints, simply can not be afforded. This is where the Athletic Booster Club would/could step in. Through donations and fundraising efforts, we would be able to provide those “extras” to help our student athletes become successful.
Several fundraising events in the works are a High Stakes Raffle and Party, 50/50 raffles at games, Memory Books for each seasons sports (highlighting team schedules, photos, bios) as well as sponsors/donations to name a few. It is important to note that none of the fundraising activities would take away from any fundraising efforts that the clubs/classes do at Heatly.
Coaches, administrators and the Athletic Director would help determine what type of items may be needed for our athletes to be successful. A committee within the Booster Club would review the list. A strict criteria would be followed to ensure that items would benefit the entire team. Also, money/items will be fairly distributed between all teams- modified through the varsity level, both boys and girls.
Won’t you join us in helping our student athletes become “The Best that they can Bee?” If anyone is interested in joining, please let us know. Any and all ideas are truly welcome. Let’s help our athletes become successful both on and off the field! Several ideas we decided to start out with are:
• Running 50/50 Drawings for each game (each sport)
• Student of the Week (for both Elementary and High School)
• Memory Book – a book for each sport, which will be available to parents/students.
• Soliciting Sponsors – We have already had several sponsors sign-up with the Booster Club. Information on what sponsorship includes is on our webpage.
• Photographers – We would like to offer a Photo DVD and/or Photo CD to our athletes for a minimal charge. We need additional people to help out in taking digital photos at the various sports/games.
• Event Organizer/Assistance
• Other – any ideas are welcome for discussion.
We are requesting your participation and any suggestions you might have. If you can help out, please email HeatlyNewsletter@nycap.rr.com – include your name, your child’s name, telephone number and list the activity(activities) you would be available to help with. The list of activities includes: 50/50 Drawings, Student of the Week, Memory Book, Sponsor Solicitation, Photographer, Event Organizer/Assistance, or Other (please specify).
