Fantasy football runs 17 weeks along with the regular NFL Season. Students choose teammates and draft a fantasy team from all the NFL team players. On Friday's they submit their line-ups for the upcoming Sunday/Monday games after looking through weekly injury reports where they can find a player's status. On Monday’s, they use the actual stats from the games in the newspaper and convert the data into points. The team with the highest points in each class in the winner...so there are 5 winners a week and their wins are keep track of by using a pictograph in the classroom. Each team designs a team helmet, which gets placed on our bulletin board football field. Each time a team wins, they get to put a football by their helmet. At the end of the season the 3 teams with the most wins get a pizza party celebration with rewards. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place is determined by how many wins they had...this season the 3 places all had 7 wins so then is goes to who has the most points from their wins. The 7th graders have been surveying all 5 classes after each playoff week asking, “Who do you think will win the super bowl?” After the super bowl, they will be putting their 3 surveys together in a graphing project. The 7th graders have used the fantasy football data throughout the season to help them through their graphing unit.
