District Leadership Team looking for new parent representative
Attention all parents! Are you interested in making a difference at Heatly School? If so, the District Leadership Team (DLT) is currently looking for a new parent representative to join the team.
The DLT is a group of teachers, administrators, and parents that work together in leading school improvement at Heatly.
In recent years, this team has implemented many initiatives in the district, such as curriculum mapping and the revision of the mission statement. Most recently, they have embarked on a campaign to further acknowledge scholars through honor roll breakfasts, Go-For-Four Box seats at the basketball games and the Student of the Month. The recent Academics Awards Dinner was an outgrowth of the DLT’s desire to give increased recognition for academic accomplishments at Heatly. In addition, the DLT is in charge of filing and implementing the district's Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) due to the SINI (School in Need of Improvement) status.
The DLT meets once every-other month from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center in Green Island. Parent volunteers should be able to commit to the following meeting dates for next school year:
Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010
Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010
Friday, Dec. 17, 2010
Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011
Thursday, April 7, 2011
Friday, June 3, 2011
The DLT is particularly interested in parents who are not already working at the school.
If you would like to become a member of the DLT
team, please contact Jodi Mazzeo at (518) 273-1422 or
jmazzeo@greenisland.org no later
than Thursday, June 24.
