Heatly celebrates Fire Prevention week, Oct. 4-10
Heatly students and faculty participated in a variety of fire safety activities during national Fire Prevention week, Oct. 4-10.
On Oct. 8, students practiced exiting the school building during a mandatory fire drill, while one staff member took part in an 'uplifting' experience.
Secretary to the Superintendent, Angela Legault,
was 'rescued' from
the
school roof during the mock fire drill. The Green Island and Watervliet
fire departments used their shared ladder truck to help Legault down to
safety.
Some other activities included an essay/poster contest for grades K-6 and a dinner at the American Legion on Oct. 9.
