Elementary students 'bebop' during assembly, learn origins of jazz
On April 19, students in grades K-6 had the chance to dance and sing, all while learning about jazz music.
The "Heatly Windjammers," led by Dave Lambert, taught the elementary a song and dance, explained the origins of jazz, showed sound waves, and led a parade around the perimeter of the gym!
The assembly was made possible through the Albany Musicians' Union and a grant from the Smithsonian.
