Heatly celebrates Music in Our Schools Month
March
is Music in Our Schools Month. To celebrate, students in grades K-6 and
7-12 have the chance to participate in a "Name That Tune Contest."
Every morning a song, picked by a member of the faculty, is played on the announcements. Students can submit their guesses to Ms. Dzembo and then one winner from each school is announced on Friday.
The winners receive prizes donated from local music stores like Hilton Music in Colonie Center, The Beat Shop in Troy, and the Rock'n Learn Center in Latham.
The first week's winners were Alex Patterson in fourth-grade and Marcus King in grade 12. The song was "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding and was picked by Mrs. Arasim, the health/P.E. teacher.
