First Recorder Black Belt of the year awarded to fifth grader
Fifth-grade student, Tiara Kinner, received the
first Recorder Karate Black Belt of the school year on March 16.
To receive this honor, Tiara had to demonstrate her ability on the recorder by playing pre-selected songs in front of the class and Music Teacher, Ms. Dzembo. She also had to help other students achieve in Recorder Karate and demonstrate an understanding of rhythm and music theory concepts.
Recorder Karate is a three-year program, which starts in third-grade.
