Plan now for 2011 summer music camps

Attending a summer music camp is a great way for students to grow, both as a person and as a musician. These types of camps can be both day and overnight camps, as well as local or far away. Click on the link provided to each of the camps below to learn more. If you are looking for other summer camps, please try the Times Union’s Summer Camp Guide. Deadlines to apply are early in many case, so don't hesitate!

Local/Day Camps

  Hudson Valley Community College – Kids on Campus – for students entering grades 1-8.

  Saint Rose Summer Academy – for students entering grades 6-10.

  Young Actors Guild at RPI – dance and theatre for students ages 8-18.

  HAT Summer Camp – see Ms. Dzembo for more information about this two-week theatre camp for students in grades 3-8; located in Raymertown, NY, just outside of Troy.

  The Arts Center of the Capital Region – Summer Camps and Classes.

  Cohoes Music Hall – Summer Musical Theatre Camp.


Overnight Camps

  Usdan – “America’s Premier Arts Camp” located on Long Island, NY for grades K-12.

•  Crane Youth Music – Music camp located on SUNY Potsdam’s campus in Potsdam, NY for ages 12-18.

  Interlochen Arts Camp – located in Northern Michigan, for students entering grades 3-12.

  Summer Theater Institute for High School Students at Alfred University, located in western New York.

  iTheatrics Broadway Academy – Students work to get a professional experience on Broadway by testing new material from Music Theatre International, Disney Theatrical Group, and the Jim Henson Company. Workshops last one week and no student will be turned away due to financial need. Students must audition in March.
