New parking restrictions in front of Heatly School begin Sept. 7
In an effort to rectify the dangerous situation that has occurred in the last few years, a new local law restricting parking in front of Heatly School will begin on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.
From 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., there will be no parking in front of the school where signs are posted. This area will be designated for pick up and drop off of students. No student is allowed to enter or exit from a vehicle from a double-parked position. Drivers will not be allowed to leave their car. The Police Department will be on duty at the school to ensure the new procedure is being followed. Violators will be ticketed.
In an effort to minimize the inconvenience to local residents, Superintendent Dr. Mike Mugits has expanded the parking area behind the schools and has asked teachers and staff not to park in front of residences.
Thank you for your cooperation.
