Emergency Go Home Early Drill, Oct. 7

On Friday, October 7, 2011 all Heatly students will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than usual as part of a state-mandated Emergency Go Home Drill.

Grades 7-12 will be released at 2:16 p.m. and grades K-6 will be released at 2:20 p.m. No afterschool activities will be held.

Each fall, school districts in the Capital District practice an Emergency Go Home Drill. This drill tests the communications in the region, within the county, and between the buildings in our school district. Section 155.17 of the Amendment to the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education requires school districts to conduct annual drills to exercise their School Emergency Plan. Practicing the drill is also part of the school district’s Emergency Management Plan.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation, patience, and understanding as we practice this drill.
