On Monday, Oct. 3, Heatly School's faculty, staff and students participated in Blue Shirt Day--a national prevention initiative to "Stomp Out Bullying" and start October off as National Bullying Prevention Month.

The school body, joined by Green Island Mayor Ellen M. McNulty-Ryan and her Executive Assistant Sean E. Ward, gathered in the gymnasium this morning to show their dedication to end bullying. The initiative is being sponsored by the Green Island Unified School District's Safe School Committee.

"'Blue Shirt Day' serves to reinforce that nothing can bring you peace but yourself," says Nicole Littlejohn and Shannon Donahue, committee co-chairs. "It's about being peaceful, listening to others and respecting others views."
