Business Communication students create public service announcements for state-wide contest

Students in Marilyn Michaels’ Business Communication class recently created public service announcements (PSA) as part of a NYS Association of Traffic Safety Boards’ contest targeted toward teen drivers.

For the contest, students had to write and perform a 30-second radio PSA that warned teenagers about the dangers of one of the contest focus areas: driving while drowsy, safety belt use, driving distractions, impaired driving, or speeding.

The recordings were sent to the NYS Association of Traffic Safety Boards and entered into a state-wide contest. Contest winners will be announced later in the spring; six winners from around the state will each receive a monetary prize and the honor of having their PSA heard on the radio.
