Green Island offers a pre-K through grade 12 academic program. Students continually build on their skills each year. The district's educational programs align to ensure ensure that every child will graduate prepared for college, career and citizenship, along with the New York State Department of Education’s learning standards.
Heatly Elementary School
The Heatly Elementary School academic program includes grades K-6 and builds on the foundational skills students acquire during the primary grades and provides them with academic challenges while taking into account individual student learning needs.
Heatly Junior High School
The Heatly Junior High School academic program includes grades 7 and 8 and builds on the skills learned duing the primary grades, while preparing students for high school. Students complete coursework in the core subjects of math, English, social studies and science, as well as art, music, physical education, health and Spanish.
Heatly Senior High School
The Heatly Senior High School academic program includes grades 9-12 and is the culminating period of a students' time at Heatly. In addition to the core subjects, students are exposed to a variety of subjects to help better prepare them for life after high school - whether it be attending college, entering the workforce or enlisting in the armed forces.
Next Generation Learning Standards
The Board of Regents adopted the newly revised English Language Arts and Mathematics Learning Standards on September 11, 2017. The new standards have been the result of over two years of collaborative work to ensure New York State has the best learning standards for our students. Over 130 educators and parents worked together to make recommendations and revise the standards, resulting in a new set of revised English Language Arts and Mathematics Learning Standards.
