• ATTENTION: Students or Parents in Grades 6-12.

Could you or your family use some help with groceries?  We have been awarded a grant to extend the backpack program to middle and high school students.   The “Pantry Program” is 100% confidential and you have the option of “shopping” in the pantry or just making a request for a backpack to go home every week filled with food to help get you and your family through the weekend.

    If you are interested:

The Program Coordinators are Ms. Hardy and Ms. Coman

    You can also:

    • Find a trusted adult who can request this on your behalf.

    • Help a friend and go shopping for them.

    • Have a parent or guardian contact any staff member here at school.

Anyone interested in joining the program can contact khardy@greenisland.org or jcoman@greenisland.org

    RELATED PROGRAM:

Since 2012, the Heatly BackPack Program in conjunction with The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, has helped alleviate child hunger by discreetly providing hungry children with backpacks full of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food on Friday afternoons so they have food to eat throughout the weekend.
