Fire alarm triggered June 7; no injuries or damage to the building

June 8, 2021

Dear Heatly families,

Last night, a ballast (a device used to provide voltage in a light) in one of our trophy cases blew, causing some smoke in the building which triggered the fire alarm. The fire department responded to the scene and determined that the building was safe to occupy. It is important to note that nobody was injured and there was no damage to the trophy case, or any other part of the building.

I’d like to thank the Green Island Fire Department for promptly responding to our school last night. We will hold a normal day of school today, Tuesday, June 8.
