Update on in-person vs. remote instruction for Thurs. & Fri.—Wed. Jan. 12
Dear Heatly Families,
As we have been communicating throughout the past week, the district is experiencing a high number of positive COVID cases, affecting both students and staff. After evaluating the most recent data, students in grades 7-12 will continue with remote learning tomorrow, Jan. 13 and Friday, Jan. 14. Students will be required to follow their bell schedule and should log in for synchronous instruction for the entire period.
Elementary students (grades Pre-K to 6) will continue with in-person instruction on Thursday and Friday. A reminder that we offer free breakfast to all of our students daily. A grab-and-go lunch will be offered to remote students who request it. Please call the office at 518-273-1422 by 9:00 A.M. tomorrow morning to reserve lunch. Pick up will be at the Main Office beginning at 11:00 A.M.
In addition, the girls’ varsity home basketball game that was scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30 P.M. against Loudonville Christian is now postponed. We will reschedule the game as soon as possible. Please disregard any previous communications.
The district plans for students in grades 7-12 to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, Jan. 18, but a final decision will be determined by review of conditions and case data. While we know in-person learning is the most effective for students, we also have to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the school community. If your child is experiencing symptoms, please follow guidelines provided by the Albany County Health Department and get tested. Heatly offers PCR testing at the district on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Registration for the PCR test is required on the Quadrant website prior to testing. Registration cannot be done at the testing site. Positive cases should be reported to the health department as well as Nurse Valentine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Heatly is here for you and your family. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the District office at 518-273-1422.
