A message from Superintendent Ross: Thurs. 5/12

May 12, 2022

Dear Heatly Families,

As a small community, when something happens to one, it happens to all. Everyone feels the impact, which is why we’re very sad to learn of the terrible fire that took place at the Riverview Edge apartments earlier today. The Green Island UFSD extends its deepest thoughts and prayers to our community, especially to the residents of the Riverview Edge apartments and their families.

A devastating event such as this one can have a great effect on small communities like Green Island. But time and time again, the community has demonstrated its ability to unite and support fellow neighbors during the most difficult times. As more information is released in the coming days, Heatly will come together to offer help to those affected by the fire because we are #GreenIslandStrong.

At this time, our school counselors Jessica Jones and Theresa Smigelski are here to support our students and their families. Furthermore, our school social worker Alyssa Lupinski is here to provide additional support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ross
Superintendent
