Fully remote individual tests positive for COVID-19

Nov. 16, 2020

Dear Heatly families,

The district has confirmed today, Monday, Nov. 16, that an individual associated with the remote learning program has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual has not been in school since the beginning of the school year.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district worked with the Albany County Department of Health to determine if any individuals had been in close contact with this individual outside of school. The Albany County Department of Health determined that there are no close contacts in the school building and nobody connected to the building needs to quarantine.

At this time, the district remains open for in-person instruction. We will continue to work closely with the Albany County Department of Health and follow their guidance to maintain a safe learning environment for everyone.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Principal Mazzeo.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ross
Superintendent of Schools
