District to conduct COVID-19 screening in school parking lot on Monday, Feb. 22

Feb. 9, 2021

Dear Heatly families,

I hope you all had a restful weekend and were able to enjoy the sunshine.

As you are aware, two weeks ago, the district conducted optional COVID screenings for students and staff members in the Ford lot. The screenings produced no positive results. The district has decided to once again conduct optional COVID screenings on Monday, Feb. 22 from 7:45-8:45 a.m. in the school parking lot. Individuals will enter the parking lot, fill out the consent forms and be tested. Everything will occur outside, so please dress accordingly. Individuals will receive their results on site in approximately 15 minutes.

Pre-K students will enter through the main doors the morning of Monday, Feb. 22.

Parents/guardians must be present with their student to sign the testing consent forms prior to being tested. Testing will take place on a first come, first served basis and is for Green Island students and staff members only. The COVID test is a rapid BinaxNow. Please note, the district cannot diagnose individuals with COVID-19. Instead, the testing is a screening tool to determine individuals who may have COVID-19.

The district will provide passes to students if they are late to school or miss class due to testing.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions, please contact me or Nurse Valentine.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Ross
Superintendent of Schools
