Stephanie Bouchey Named As New Principal Of Heatly School

The Green Island Union Free School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Bouchey as the new Principal of Heatly School, effective July 1, 2025. Mrs. Bouchey will be entering her 20th year at Heatly in September as she transitions into the role following a successful year as Principal Assistant (Teacher on Special Assignment). In this leadership role, she was instrumental in advancing district priorities, building positive relationships with parents by ensuring a safe environment for students to learn.

Prior to serving as Principal Assistant, Bouchey was the district’s Instructional Coach for two years, supporting teacher development and the implementation of high-impact instructional strategies. Before that, she served as an Academic Intervention Services (AIS) teacher, working directly with students to close learning gaps and boost academic growth. Her career reflects a deep commitment to student success and staff empowerment across all levels of learning.

Superintendent Dr. Dan Kalbfliesh highlighted Bouchey’s appointment as a key step in continuing the district’s vision for academic excellence and a thriving school culture.

“Stephanie Bouchey is an accomplished educator whose leadership has helped guide Heatly through a transformational period,” said Dr. Kalbfliesh. “Her experience in coaching, classroom support, and systems thinking—combined with her relational approach—makes her the right leader to carry our work forward.”

During her time in leadership, Heatly School earned associate status in the Visible Learning Certification process, aligned instruction through the Heatly Instructional Model, and strengthened its focus on clarity, feedback, and student ownership of learning. Bouchey has also worked closely with families and staff to foster belonging, inclusion, and shared responsibility for every learner.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue working with such an incredible school community,” said Bouchey. “Heatly is a special place where everyone is deeply invested in student success. I’m excited to lead with purpose, build on our strong foundation, and keep growing together.”

Please join the Green Island Union Free School District in congratulating Principal Stephanie Bouchey on her well-earned new role. Her dedication and leadership will continue to shape a vibrant future for Heatly School.
