District Announces Staff Transitions And Recognitions

The Green Island School District is marking a significant transition as it prepares to bid farewell and extend gratitude to several dedicated staff members, while also celebrating notable achievements within its team. At the June 9th meeting of the board of education several employees were honored by the district.

Retirees Carol DellaRocca, Sandy Razzano and Donna Langley are set to conclude their distinguished careers with the district. Their collective dedication spans decades of service, profoundly impacting countless students and colleagues alike.

Of particular note is Carol DellaRocca, who has dedicated an impressive 34 years to teaching in Green Island. Over her storied career, she has touched the lives of more than 600 students, fostering their growth and learning with unwavering commitment and compassion. Her contributions have left a lasting legacy within the community, and she is celebrated for her long standing devotion to education and her students’ success.

In addition to honoring those retiring, the district recognizes Haylie Marquardt for her recent achievement of earning tenure, a milestone that reflects her dedication and excellence as an educator. The district also extends heartfelt thanks to Pete Mason, Brian Ford, and Sean Ohnsman for their service and contributions to Green Island.

Looking ahead, the district expresses best wishes to Haylie, Pete, Sean and Brian as they transition to Watervliet School District next year, where they will continue to serve students. The district appreciates their dedication and hopes for continued success in their new roles.
