Green Island UFSD announces new principal of Heatly

Dear Heatly Families,

New principal Dr. Mario Fernandez

After an extensive search, we’re excited to announce Mario Fernandez has been selected as the new principal of Heatly. Dr. Fernandez was appointed to the position by the Board of Education at last night’s meeting. We would like to thank our students, families, staff and the Green Island community for their participation in the search process. It was a successful collaborative effort and your feedback was integral to choosing the appropriate candidate. Dr. Fernandez will start his new position on February 27th.

“I am so excited to be part of the Green Island family and the wonderful work at Heatly School. You can sense the energy our students, staff, and the community invest in giving our kids the best educational experience!” says Dr. Fernandez.

“The district is proud to welcome Dr. Fernandez to the Heatly family. Through a rigorous and transparent interview process, stakeholders confidently identified Mario will be a great addition to the Heatly team. We all have full confidence that his extensive experience and love of children will support our staff, students and families towards excellence.”
