Dear Green Island UFSD Staff, Families, and Community Members,
The Green Island Union Free School District Board of Education would like to share an important leadership update.
Effective June 30th, Superintendent Daniel Kalbfliesh will be concluding his service to the district. We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to Green Island and appreciate his partnership in ensuring a smooth and responsible transition.
The Board will be appointing an Interim Superintendent who will begin service on July 1. The Interim Superintendent will provide stable leadership while the Board undertakes the process of planning for the district’s next permanent superintendent.
Between now and the end of June, the Board, Superintendent Kalbfliesh, and the district leadership team will work closely together to ensure continuity in district operations, instruction, and fiscal management. Our focus is on maintaining stability, supporting staff, and ensuring students are well-served as we prepare for the upcoming school year.
The district remains in a strong position, with systems and plans in place to support a successful start to the new school year. Additional information about the Interim Superintendent and opportunities for engagement will be shared in the coming weeks.
